Multifunction, steam and pyrolytic, all built-in and nearly all 60 cm. Before looking at programmes, decide what height it goes at: under the worktop, as it has always been done, or in a column at eye level. The second costs one more unit and you are grateful for it every time you pull out a hot tray without bending down — and if someone at home has a bad back, it stops being a preference.
The other thing that sets the price is how it cleans. Pyrolysis heats to 500°, turns whatever is baked on into ash, and leaves you to wipe it out; you run it two or three times a year and each cycle costs about what it costs to have a roast in. Catalytic liners and easy-clean enamel are cheaper up front and are paid for later in scouring pads. If the oven is used every week, pyrolysis pays for itself — not in money, in Sunday afternoons.
Here they are open, with the trays in and the telescopic runners pulled out, which is where you notice the difference. And if you are redoing the whole kitchen, the oven is decided alongside the hob and the hood: we look at that in the kitchen showroom.
