Induction, ceramic and gas, for building in. Two measurements before any others: the cut-out already made in your worktop (the cut-out, not the unit), and the clear space underneath, because that is where the oven or a drawer goes and it does not always fit as expected.

And the question nobody asks in time: how much electrical power you have contracted. It is worth knowing, but do not let it put you off induction: it is not an obstacle, it is a setting. Today's induction hobs come with a power limiter, it is configured on fitting day, and they live perfectly well with an ordinary supply. Tell us what you have and we will have it sorted before the appliance arrives, which is when it gets sorted properly.
